March 20 '07: To help businesses keep their continuity of operations, personnel and resources on track and to mitigate a disaster's impact, IBM and Cisco have announced a new all-in-one package called the Crisis Management Services for Crisis Response, a press release announced recently.
According to IBM's release, the new crisis response service "packages hardware, software, services and satellite-based capabilities as one service, offering clients a one-stop emergency response communications network. The solution is designed to integrate into a client's daily operational fabric to act as a network communications and information hub during times of disruption."Philippe Jarre, the vice president of IBM's Business Continuity and Resiliency Services said the partnership with Cisco to develop the business response and continuity package is "helping our clients protect and improve their business operations by providing the industry's only end-to-end crisis response solution." The companies unveiled the new service during the Federal Office Systems Exposition (FOSE) in Washington D.C. recently. It will be available immediately to businesses.
